From Their Hands to Yours
Stories from the Market

“Thanksgiving just gets me all warm and tingly and all kinds of wonderful inside.” — Willard Scott
As November winds down, the landscape grows quiet and bare — a brisk, breezy pause before the rush of December. Thanksgiving sits right in the middle of the holiday trio, reminding us to gather close, notice how the kids have grown, breathe in familiar kitchen scents, and remember those no longer at the table. It’s the moment gratitude resets us.
And here at your Market village, we want to help you create a celebration full of comfort, flavor and family — old, new and remembered.
FUEL UP FOR SHOPPING
Start with Woodman’s Artisan Bakery’s pastries — blueberry scones, filled puff pastries, maybe even a pretzel. Pair with an iced coffee from Much Needed Coffee (the Apple Cider Donut flavor feels especially festive).
APPETIZERS AND BOARDS
Cheeses & Cured Meats
Ben from Abbot Hill Farm is back with raw milk cheeses made from Temple Wilton’s grass-fed cows. Brookford Farm has smoked and regular cured meats plus their own cheeses.
Honey
Pick up a jar of award-winning Tewksbury Honey to drizzle on your charcuterie board’s selection of cheese.
Lebanese Flavors
Sayde and Georges dips — whipped Feta, Mutabal, Muhammara — plus homemade pita chips add a beautiful Valley heritage twist.
Italian & Peruvian Bites
Taste Sicily with Rich the Meatball King’s slow-cooked classics, or grab Dona Issa’s bite-sized meat pies. They also have shepherd’s pie and chili for easy post-holiday meals.
MAIN COURSE OPTIONS
The news of the fire at Hurd Farm has us all devasted. Fortunately, no one was hurt and they have gotten turkey to replace (some of) what was lost. They’re usually not at the Market the week before Thanksgiving, and this year more than ever we’ll miss their presence.
We have alternatives for you. Brookford Farm has beef, chicken and pork. Flying M Farms has chicken and duck. New England Fishmongers bring fish, shrimp, oysters and mussels — ask about special orders. And then of course, vegan options include Joyberry Farms’ fresh mushrooms (Lion’s Mane, shiitake, oyster); they also make great stuffing and sides (and you can always pick up one of their ready-made soups and dishes).
Pick up a 6” or 9” pot pie from Orazio’s Family Dinners.
SIDES AND SALADS
Brookford and Fresh Start Farms have your squash, root vegetables and greens.
Victory Aquaponics brings crisp salad greens; Meta Microgreens boosts flavor and nutrients (and are perfect for leftover sandwiches).
Anderson Mini Maples offers maple-coated pecans for salads plus syrup in all grades.
For dressings, try F-Word Farm’s handcrafted probiotic vinegars — smoked green tomato, rhubarb ginger, apple fennel. Emily can guide you to the perfect combo.
GARNISHES
Add heat with Big Rich’s Hot Sauce and Marinade – lots to choose from.
