IT ALL STARTS WITH A SEED

A stalk of corn waiting for harvest started as a seed; our community’s the same. We’re planting the seed of brighter tomorrows today. The Salem NH Farmers Market gives local farmers and vendors a place to come together and celebrate good, hard, honest work – the work done by the hands of our neighbors. Come out and help us grow.

  • The mission of the Salem NH Farmers Market reflects our growth and commitment to our regional community:
  • We strive to create a culturally welcoming environment for vendors and customers while providing our local communities with a wide variety of fresh, locally produced foods and to provide information about the nutritional, economic, environmental, and cultural and social implications of eating seasonally and locally.
  • Our board would also like to reaffirm that there is absolutely no room in the Salem NH Farmers Market for discrimination, harassment, or violence based on anyone’s actual or perceived race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and/or national origin. We affirm that diversity is one of our core values along with equity and inclusivity and the importance of our efforts to continue educating ourselves and working toward supporting the diversity of our vendors and patrons.
  • We recognize that our community demands and deserves and environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and respected, and we continually recommit to working toward making this a reality.

Jane Lang – Found of The Salem New Hampshire Farmers Market

Organized in 2010 by Jane Lang, volunteer market coordinator, she along with market patron supporters have built a strong following of people who appreciate and want to buy fresh, local products produced by the diversity of vendors who participate in our market. The Market has been recognized as a public charity establishing itself as a 501c3 since July 30, 2012. Farmers markets are an important public face for agriculture and a critical part of our food system. Our goal is to increase visibility to not only help farmers and entrepreneurs but also help fill a growing consumer demand for fresh, healthy foods.
